Full-Time Trial Court Attorney
  • Chris represents local residents in every aspect of the District Court docket, including landlord/tenant matters, small claims, criminal defense, civil cases under $25,000, and traffic cases.
  • Chris is the only candidate for Judge who is a full-time private practice trial court attorney. He owns and manages The Law Office of Chris Easthope, a successful law practice in downtown Ann Arbor.
  • Chris has conducted over 100 criminal and civil trials, felony preliminary examinations, and administrative hearings.


Ann Arbor Public Servant
  • Chris has served as an Ann Arbor City Councilman, representing the 5th Ward, since 2000.
  • Chris served as Mayor Pro-Tem of Ann Arbor from 2003-2007.
  • As a City Councilman, Chris helped establish the 15th District Court’s Sobriety Court, which reduces the recidivism rate by helping people charged with drunk driving offenses change their lifestyle and conquer their addiction.
  • Chris serves on the Ann Arbor Public Schools Educational Foundation Board, Greenbelt Advisory Commission, and has previously served on the City’s Environmental Commission.


Lifelong Ann Arbor Resident
  • Chris was born and raised in Ann Arbor, and attended Ann Arbor schools.
  • He earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, and earned his law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, where he was a Dean’s List recipient.
  • Chris is the father of two boys: Aidan (age 7) and Conor (age 5).
